What do you know about the indigenous language called Inuktitut? Well, a panel of Critical Link featured Martha Flaherty: an Inuit interpreter of Inuktitut for the Canadian Senate. She gave a fascinating talk. After being forced to attend a residential school, Martha became a child interpreter. Then later she got formal training and made interpreting her career. When she was interviewed after her panel, it was learned learned that she’s also a movie star! She appears in a Canadian documentary called “Martha of the North”. A moving tale.
